    Harpoon Point to Point

    All day
    08/12/2017

Join the Vermont Foodbank in their fight against hunger by riding the Harpoon Point to Point!

Since its inception in 2002, the Harpoon Point to Point has become the Vermont Foodbank’s largest fundraiser of the year, raising over $1.3M to date.  Come ride 100, 50 or 25 miles on the road, or ride the 20-mile mountain bike trial at Mt. Ascutney. This well-supported ride will take you along rivers, over covered bridges and through Vermont’s incomparable landscape with its infinite shades of green.  A festive post-ride party awaits you when you cross the finish line at the Harpoon Brewery, complete with hot showers, delicious BBQ, live music and fresh beer, straight from the source!

    Tour de Tunbridge

    9:00 am-9:01 am
    08/12/2017
155 Ayers St, Barre, VT 05641, USA

Ride: Tour de Tunbridge – 64 miles without a shorter option and with an elevation profile that is reminiscent of a stage in one of the classics. The ride starts out with an easy climb out of Barre and then swoops down VT-14 through Williamstown Gulf. After cruising through bucolic countryside and past covered bridges, we turn in Royalton and head back on VT-110 for a long and gradual ascent through Tunbridge, finally climbing up through another gulf to Washington Heights. We will then be rewarded with an astounding vista and a sweet descent through Washington and past the Barre stone quarries.  If you haven’t ridden these roads yet, you owe this one to yourself, especially now that much of the route has been recently repaved. It’s a nice loop for fit tandem teams, too.

Ride leaders will provide cue sheets.

Notice

Always click refresh (on your browser bar) to be sure that you are seeing the most recent version of all events. This is especially important for race results and cue sheets! Calendar event dates, times and venues are approximate until schedules are finalized in Spring of each year. Ride times listed are MEET TIMES only because the actual ride time will depend on riders, route chosen, changing weather, etc. Evening training ride start times will vary as the sunset time changes and will be earlier in spring and fall and later in midsummer. Saturday (VP) training rides are the opposite and tend to start earlier in midsummer to allow for longer and cooler rides. Check the latest information on the GMBC email list for the most updated information.

Using the Calendar

Users may change the full calendar view as well as the view on the sidebar menu. Options include: full, week, day, list, 4-day, and posterboard. Tours, time trials, crits, training rides and meetings are each color-coded for easy identification. Clicking on an event will provide full information including a map to the start site and ride leader contact information if relevant. Mouse over (hover) an event to see the same information but with smaller text and no map.
