Grand Isles Flats

Carpooling encouraged!
28 mi (E/M)

One of the flattest rides of the season. The 28-mile version circles Grand Isle and includes some dirt. The pace will be more casual than the 58-mile ride. Riders on the longer ride can visit St. Anne's Shrine (bathrooms and picnic tables but no food) and also a fossil bed. This ride takes low traffic roads from Hinesburg to Bristol -- where we’ll stop at the bakery for sustenance for the return. The beauty of this ride is that virtually all the hills are in the beginning, allowing for a mellow return trip.  The 50-mile version adds a loop through Bristol and some small hills. 9:15 am Clifford Lumber

Cabot through Greensboro and Craftsbury. The 43- and 57-mile routes stop at the famous Willy’s Store in Greensboro and offer a view of Caspian Lake. Both go along the shore of Lake Eligo too. This fairly hilly ride is high on scenery and low on traffic.

A "social ride", which will have a more leisurely pace, will start in Hardwick and do the part of the same loop clockwise (i.e., Hardwick to Wolcott to Craftsbury), avoiding later heavier traffic on Route 15.

Enjoy a scenic tour through the countryside of Waitsfield and Warren with a visit to Moss Glen Falls. Turn around at the falls for a 35 mile ride or continue up Middlebury Gap with a stop at Texas Falls before turning around for a 60 mile ride.  A stop at the Warren Store is always popular and the general store in Hancock provides an additional respite for those on the long ride. Sadly, the Hancock store has closed. There is a deli across the road from the store, and a gas station less than a mile farther down VT-100, for those who need to refuel.
