Ride leaders are volunteers giving their time to support the Green Mountain Bicycle Club. Ride leaders are expected to arrive at the designated meeting place 15 minutes before the meeting time, with maps, sign-in sheet and waiver form(s). It is important for ride leaders to attempt to assess the experience level of new riders so that no one is left at the back of the group unwillingly. Ride leaders also discuss planned meeting places for snacks and possible regrouping. Ride leaders are not required or expected to repair bikes or wait for latecomers. Ride leaders are not obligated to lead rides in unsuitable riding conditions (for example during storms) but may have cue sheets available if riders choose to ride on their own.
