Training Rides

Training Rides fit somewhere between Touring and Racing. Training rides are serious workouts, but still may accommodate a range of riding abilities. The evening rides attempt to squeeze in the most riding reasonably possible after a hard day at work. On Tuesdays, the rides always start near the Round Church in Richmond. The Tuesday ride is considered the fastest, primarily for racers and non-racers who just like to go fast. The Wednesday ride usually has at least three groups of varying speed preferences (abilities) starting at 15-17 mph average. Wednesday rides always start at the Wheeler dirt parking lot on Swift St. in South Burlington and do the same 28 mile loop each week. The Saturday rides, also called the VP or Vice-President’s rides are longer and often include significant climbs. The routes vary each week so meeting time and place vary and are posted on the GMBC email list serve usually a few days beforehand.

All riders must sign a GMBC rider waiver once each riding season. We also encourage riders to become club members, although membership is not required for participation.
