GMBC holds a practice criterium (crit) race series that is permitted as a fun race by USA Cycling and therefore does not require a USAC racing license. The crit series runs from late spring to mid-August, on Tuesday evenings. For 2025 all races will be on Water Tower Hill, Colchester, Vermont. The race dates for 2025 are 20 May, 3 June, 17 June, 1 July, 15 July, 12 August.
Please fill out an unofficial “pre-registration” form for each race so we know you are planning to come. This is NOT the USAC registration form, but it helps us plan for the event–and maybe even contact you if we have to cancel due to weather or other unsafe conditions.
There are two races (C/B starts at 6 pm; B/A starts at 6:45). Registration opens at 5:30 and closes 10 minutes before each start.
Race levels are based on USAC racing category. Fields may be combined at the discretion of the Race Director and Chief Referee.
- C level: Cat.5 men, cat 4 women, beginners.
- B level: Cat.4 men, cat 3 women.
- A level: cat 1-3 men, women
- Juniors race their category
Adult entry fee is $15 per event or a season pass is available for $60. Junior and full-time student (be prepared to show student ID) entries are $10 per race. Race fees include the $5.99/rider/day USA Cycling insurance surcharge. USA Cycling entry forms are used. Forms may be printed, completed and handed in at registration or filled out at sign-in. All Junior racers MUST have the signature of their parent or legal guardian on their race form. If the parent or guardian will not be at the race, the form must be filled out, signed and brought to the race. The C race is an introductory race for riders looking to get a taste of what it is like to race in a criterium. Experienced racers ride the C race with new riders and give racing tips and encouragement!
Helmets must be worn whenever you are on your bike at the race site; infractions will be subject to fines as per USAC rules.
